"This year marks the 20th anniversary of one of the most significant demographic shifts in Schenectady's modern history. In 2001, Guyanese families started moving to the Electric City in large numbers, sometimes totaling 20 or 30 new families a week. Today we begin a four-day series on how it all started and what it means for the community in 2021."

Part four of a four-day series on the Guyanese in Schenectady with profiles of five entrepreneurs who've made their ventures work here despite the many challenges. We also examine the way that Guyanese student-athletes have made an impact on school sports in recent years.
