The Library and First Year Seminar program have a strong tradition of working together to introduce first-year students to core research and information literacy skills. FYSM classes will include a hands-on library session focused on navigating the library and information environments effectively.
To support other aspects of information literacy, we’ve developed a flexible, modular Toolkit that FYSM faculty can adapt as desired to fit their course. The materials are designed to align with shared information literacy outcomes. Available options include:
Additional class sessions on topics like source evaluation, database searching, or AI literacy
One-on-one or small-group student consultations with librarians
Asynchronous learning modules (Credo InfoLit Core and custom content)
Ready-to-use activities and lesson plans
Support with designing assignments, activities, or assessments
We’re here to collaborate! Reach out if you’d like help tailoring the toolkit to your course.
